From Blocks to Blooms: a Digital Art Odyssey

Amidst the challenges of the pandemic, I found myself grappling with a creative block. Seeking guidance, I embarked on a journey of self-discovery through therapy. Together with my therapist, we crafted a plan to reignite my creative spark and reclaim my space in the world of creativity.
Starting with a small yet powerful symbol of growth and beauty, the Birds of Paradise flower, I took up my 2H pencil and began to reimagine my creative abilities. What began as a humble sketch in a notebook blossomed into a rebirth of my artistic endeavors.
Join me as I invite you into my digital art portfolio, where each stroke tells a story of resilience and renewal. From the delicate petals of the Birds of Paradise to the vibrant landscapes of my imagination, I invite you to witness the transformative power of art in the face of adversity. Welcome to a space where creativity knows no bounds and every pixel holds a piece of my journey.

The pose is inspired by a Herb RItts photograph and echoes a restorative yoga posture, one that nurtures grounding and protection. After her passing, I rarely paused to process the depth of that loss. Years later, as family dynamics shift and rituals grew distant, I found solace in memory.
This work captures a quiet moment of grief, loneliness, but aloneness. a moment where one comes home to oneself, pause, regroups, and finds footing before moving forward. It is about making peace within the self and honoring the love that remains.

this work depicts sensuality at the threshold of transformation, the moment where siren becomes human. Limited colors to black and white due to material availability at the time, the palette reflects constraight while emphasizing form and emotion.
Sirens, to me, embody duality: innocence and allure, softness and ferocity. they are powerful beings driven by desire, self preservation, and freedom. For me, this piece reflects that strength, the longing to exist freely, whether within the lagoon or beyond it.

During the weeks he stayed with us, Cecil became a source of comfort and joy, playful, affectionate, and present. The moment of reunion, witnessing my families reactions was unforgettable.
This abstract work captures the emotional resonance of that experience. Through color and form, I represent the people involved, my partner, mother, sister, Cecil and myself, expression the warmth, relief and sense of home that emerged in that moment.

Using Scrabble tiles and wooden fragments, I assembled what appears at first glance to be abstract or random text. Upon closer inspection, hidden messages reveal themselves from every angle. This work invites slowing down, an act of discovery that mirrors how affirmations function in daily life.
The table serves as an anchor: a reminder to believe, persist, and remain grounded. It reflects my belief in the quiet power of words and the way small messages can carry profound emotional weight.

The act of reconstruction became central to the work, transforming fragility into strength. The final composition reflects chaos, movement, and renewal, embracing imperfection as part of the creative and emotional process.

I chose to abandon traditional alphabet structure in favor of exploration. Using the letter "T", I transformed a quick sketch into a textured, labyrinth like form symbolizing personal complexity. Kleenex tissue was used to manipulate the charcoal, creating a moody vibration that evokes the feeling of an ancient document, fragmented, layered and alive with history.

The work depicts the Grand High With: powerful, deceptive, and deeply malevolent. While outwardly beautiful and regal, her true nature is monstrous. She exists in a moment of vulnerability, alone in her hotel chamber, staring into a mirror that reveals her true self.
A small mouse lurks in the corner, observing as she attempts to discard a vial of poison. This detail introduces tension and surveillance. The piece explores duality, disguise, and the danger of appearances, highlighting how power can be wielded through manipulation and illusion.
